At the end of this elective study, the student should be able to:

1. Explain the mechanism of Obstetric Brachial Plexus surgery
2. Describe Brachial Plexus anatomy
3. Appreciate the impact of OBPP on the patient and family
4. Explain the assessment, decision making and investigation required
5. Describe Obstetric Brachial Plexus surgery

Resources and learning opportunities

1. Reading material suggested by the supervisor
2. Attend OBPP clinic 9-12.30 Friday in the second (or fourth) week of the month
3. Meet a patient, attend theatre during reconstructive surgery, follow patient postoperatively
