Objectives

To observe private paediatric consultations to gain an understanding of the paediatrician's approach to different presenting problems. In particular, the student will study how the consultant deals with different problems and why the same issue evokes different strategies depending on each child's family and community context. The student's report on the elective will explain and illustrate the similarities and differences in the approaches observed.
