Objectives
Upon completion of this study, the student will be able to describe:
- Indicators for enteral feeding of children
- Problems associated with enteral feeding of children
- Nutritionist troubleshooting of enteral feeding problems
- The role of RCH staff in enteral feeding: Gastroenterologist,
Dietitian, Stomal Therapist
Report: The report on the elective should
be presented in the form of a
written case study for one enterally fed child. The case study
should include: brief medical history, growth history, feeding
history, indicators for enteral feeding, impact of enteral feeding
on family life, supports available to family and long term feeding plan.
