Objectives
To gain an understanding of the pharmacology and practical use of common
anaesthetic agents used in children, students should be able to:
- Give a brief account of intranvenous induction and inhalational
induction of general anaesthesia for a child. What factors
influence the choice of one method over the other?
- Describe, briefly, the pharmacology of the induction agents
used
- What are the risks of general anaesthesia to a healthy
child undergoing minor elective surgery?
