Objectives

At the end of this elective study, the student should be able to:

1. Explain the causes and mechanism of drooling
2. Describe oral anatomy
3. Appreciate the impact of drooling on the patient, carers, peers
4. Explain non-surgical treatment options
5. Describe surgical treatment options

1. Reading suggested by your supervisor
2. Attend salivary control clinic: Thursday 9.30-12.30 in the first week of month
3. Meet a patient, attend theatre during salivary control surgery, follow patient postoperatively
