Scholarships

There are many different sources of postgraduate scholarships for research students and the search for the right scholarship can be confusing. The following are good places to start:

The University of Melbourne Scholarships Office has information for both local and international students. Scholarships covered by this University office include fee-remission and stipend scholarships, travelling scholarships, studentships and more. Students can apply online for many of the scholarships available.

The University of Melbourne Research Office is part of central University Administration and aims to support research and research training. The Grants and Fellowships page has advice on funding opportunities, and links include:

Postgraduate Health Research Scholarships* (formerly Trainee Research Scholarships). These are funded by the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) using Good Friday Appeal funds and are administered via the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI). *Please note, this link is only accessible from the RCH/MCRI campus. If you cannot access the link, contact the MCRI grants office on +613 8341 6211.

Royal Children’s Hospital Travelling Scholarships are travel grants available to students who are also RCH staff.

Hundreds of other scholarships are listed on the Joint Academic Scholarships Online System (JASON).
